Success Criterion 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Pre-recorded) (Level A): An alternative for time-based media or audio description of the pre-recorded video content is provided for synchronized media, except when the media is a media alternative for text and is clearly labelled

  • A text file is provided for the synchronized multimedia file.
  • Audio descriptions are provided for the synchronized multimedia file.

Understanding the above example 1

For the example above you will observe that:

  • The believe in yourself prerecorded video/ synchronized media does not have either a text transcript or audio descriptions provided to describe all the audio content of the video i.e. the dialogues and who is speaking as well as all the important sounds and a description of all the important visual only elements. Thus, people who are not able to see the content will not be able to read or hear all the content of the video and will miss out on important information.
