Success Criterion 1.2.5 Audio Description (Pre-recorded) (Level AA): Audio description is provided for all pre-recorded video content in synchronized media.
Example 1

- The synchronized or multimedia content present.
- Check if an audio description track for the media file is provided.
Understanding the above example 1
For the example above you will observe that:
- The creator movie trailer is a multimedia or synchronized media file i.e. it has both visuals and dialogues present to understand the content. In the video an audio description track is provided along with the trailer for users who cannot visually see the video to understand what is happening in the video.
Example 2
In the example below observe the following elements:
- The synchronized or multimedia file.
- Check if an audio description track file is provided.
Understanding the above example 2
For the example above you will observe that:
- Even though the video provided is a multimedia file i.e. it has both visuals and dialogues, an audio description track is not provided. This is passing as the visual content is not required to understand the content of the video and all the important information is present in audio. Therefore, the visual content does not need to be described for the users.
